About Us
Peel Playgroup is a well-established children’s daycare facility held in the Philip Christian Centre behind the Town Hall in Peel.
We aim to provide children with a nurturing and loving environment where each child can be encouraged to develop to the best of his or her potential.
There are two main playrooms and an additional outdoor play area, that is used in all weather, as well as toilets/changing facilities and a cloakroom area for children’s belongings.
We are registered with the Department of Social Care (Childcare) for 16 children, aged 2-5 years.
The Playgroup is owned by Peel Elim Community Church, who have a vision to serve the community of Peel with a brilliant Playgroup facility.
Peel Playgroup is managed by Sarah Vincent. Sarah has a Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice and has over 6 years’ experience working in childcare.
Janet Fargher serves as Playgroup’s Deputy Manager. Janet is qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Early Years. Janet has a wealth of knowledge and experience that she brings to her role.
Janet Rooney and Denise Brew are the two other members of staff who are experienced Playgroup assistants.
All staff have DBS checks and meet Registration and Inspections suitability criteria. There is a key worker system in place which provides children with a sense of security and consistency. The key person will observe and monitor children within their key group and plan activities to meet their individual needs. Children’s development is recorded in their individual learning journal and is linked to the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum).
